Official Fees Published by Dubai Courts
Power of Attorney
Dubai Courts publishes the POA ratification charge on its own service page, stated per party to the POA together with a Knowledge and Innovation charge. Check the current amounts on the Dubai Courts POA ratification service page. Whatever that figure is, the document may still require professional drafting, translation, corporate review or foreign attestation, none of which is included in it.
Legal notices
For attested legal notices, Dubai Courts publishes an attestation charge together with an electronic-data-entry fee applied by the notary for each signature where applicable. The current amounts are on the Dubai Courts legal notices service page.

What the Official Fee Does Not Cover
Legal translation
Non-Arabic documents used for Dubai Courts notarial services may require certified legal translation. Translation is separate from the authority fee and varies with length and complexity. Because it is prepared on the executed text, a later amendment generally means paying for it again.
Foreign supporting documents
Overseas supporting documents can involve foreign competent authorities, UAE missions and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The chain should be confirmed before documents are signed or couriered, since an incorrect sequence is the most expensive mistake available in this area.
Professional work
A corporate POA can carry a modest official fee while requiring substantial legal work to verify authority, prepare resolutions and process foreign parent-company documents. Official fee and legal complexity should never be conflated — they measure different things.
Online Processing Does Not Change the Fee
Electronic processing does not make the official notarial act free. Dubai’s Smart Electronic Notary is a delivery channel, not a different tariff. The fee follows the service being performed, whichever channel is used.
Two Situations Where the POA Fee Does Not Apply
Value-based instruments
Where the requested notarial act is value-based, the correct fee provision must be identified. Do not assume that the POA fee applies to an underlying high-value commercial instrument merely because a POA is also involved.
The private-notary route
The total price of a private-notary route may differ, because the federal framework regulates private-notary professional charges separately. Current eligibility and fee treatment should be verified for the actual service required.
Getting an Accurate Quotation
Quoting from a document name alone is unreliable, because the same label can describe transactions of very different complexity. A document-level review is more dependable. To obtain one, provide:
- the complete draft, or clear written instructions on the powers intended;
- identity documents for each party;
- corporate documents and authority records for company matters;
- the number of parties and where each will sign;
- the intended use and the authority that will receive the document;
- any foreign documents, with the attestation already completed on them.

Are Dubai notary fees the same across the UAE?
Not necessarily. Fees follow the competent authority and the service, and the federal framework and each Emirate’s published schedule should be checked for the transaction concerned rather than assumed from a Dubai figure.
Is the official fee the only cost?
Rarely. Certified legal translation, foreign attestation, courier handling and professional drafting or review are separate, and in cross-border or corporate matters they commonly exceed the authority’s charge.
Does each party pay separately for a POA?
Dubai Courts states the POA fee per party, so the number of concerned parties affects the official total. The Knowledge and Innovation charge is stated alongside it on the same page.
Is an online notary transaction cheaper?
No. The electronic channel is a means of delivery. The fee follows the service performed, so choosing the online route does not by itself reduce the official cost.
Can a fee be quoted before seeing the document?
An official fee can usually be identified once the service is known. The professional component depends on drafting, authority verification, translation and any foreign chain, which is why a document-level review gives a more reliable figure.
